Day 1
Blog
The first day of the annual OSGeo code sprint in Bolsena was already filled with action for the Mapbender team.
We discussed the adoption of the jQuery plug-in system, which will make Mapbender more modular and extensible. This is good news for all Mapbender developers, who will also be able to use a better structured documentation created by NaturalDocs, and have easier configuration options for each individual application element.
Another topic is a new session handling. So we start to implement a new class to manage all the session-stuff.
We also worked on the release of Mapbender 2.6, with a lot of testing and many bug fixes, and an overhaul of the install script, which is now much more reliable and easier to use.
It's wonderful to be able to work in a serene and reclusive environment in the monastery in Bolsena. The project will benefit a lot from this week's work. We will keep you updated on how we get along in days to come!
