have a look at the results of the initiative using the application GDI-NRW. Use the button <Adding WMS from filtered List> and choose map services from the list of the registered services of the GDI-NRW initiative.

The GDI-NRW is the top level for Catalog Services in North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW), Germany. In the planned European SDI-architectur it is server to GDI-DE which is server to INSPIRE. The GDI-NRW may also be client to local meta data catalogs.
It is fairly active as the federal governance of this country badly needs an integrative and highly interoperable meta data catalog. Additionally NRW has a high density of active GIS-industry and GIS and SDI service providers.
It has already produced some highly visible results.

Die GDI-NRW ist die oberste Instanz für Katalog Dienste in Nordrhein-Westfalen (NRW), Deutschland. In der geplanten SDI-Architektur ist dies der Server für die GDI-DE, die Server für INSPIRE ist. Die GDI-NRW kann auch Client für lokale Metadatenkataloge sein.
Dieser Server ist sehr aktiv, da Nordrhein-Westfalen dringend einen integrativen und vollständig kompatiblen Metadatenkatalog benötigt, um die föderalen Strukturen unter einen Hut zu bekommen. Zusätzlich hat NRW eine enorme Dichte an aktiver GIS-Industrie, GIS- und GDI-Dienstleistern und sehr akkurate und umfassende räumliche Daten.
