Dedication
This Wiki is dedicated to the client end of the Global Spatial Data Infrastructure. The perspective favors Free Software Thinking and Open Source Development Methodology.
Content
This Wiki contains the documentation, examples and development coordination of the Software Mapbender, hence the name. This core software is client interface and management system to the worldwide spatial services oriented architecture. From this perspective we have to cross reference all kinds of other software packages and developments and keep track of what is going on in the spatial world.
Wiki Access
Although this web site technologically is a Wiki it does need named accounts. The sole reason that made us implement access control were our problems with spam robots. We are sorry to have been required to take these measures and we do see the quantity of editing has gone down a bit.
Please Request for an Account to edit this Wiki. There is no formal process, you are just required to not be a spam robot.
Operator
This Wiki is operated by the WhereGroup, a company located in Bonn, Germany providing software technology and services in the spatial realm. You can request for the SQL Dump of this Wiki either with full history or as current snapshot at mailto:info@mapbender.org.
The future operator of this Wiki will hopefully be the Open Source Geospatial Foundation where the New Mapbender Site is already being developed.

Dieses Wiki beinhaltet die Dokumentation, Beispiele sowie die Entwicklungskoordination der Software Mapbender, daher der Name. Diese Kern-Software ist die Klient-Oberfläche und Verwaltungssystem für weltweite räumliche Dienst-Architekturen. Aus dieser Sicht müssen wir uns allen möglichen anderen Software-Paketen und Entwicklungen anpassen und immer aktuell informiert sein in der "Räumlichen Welt".
Wiki Zugang
Obwohl diese Webseite technisch gesehen ein Wiki ist, sind benannte Accounts notwendig. Der einzige Grund, weshalb wir eine Zugangskontrolle implementiert haben, waren unsere Probleme mit Spamrobots. Wir sind traurig, dass solche Maßnahmen notwendig waren und haben registriert, dass die Beteiligung am Wiki etwas abgenommen hat.
