OGC OWS

OGC OWS (OpenGIS Web Services) is the group of service specifications (or protocol standards) created and maintained by the OGC. These currently include the

• Web Map Service (WMS)
• Web Feature Service (WFS)
• Web Coverage Service (WCS).

Common aspects are described in the OWS Common document and include:

• operation request
• response contents
• parameters included in operation requests and responses
• encoding of operation requests and responses.
