SICAD/SD-IMS

SICAD/SD-IMS was a web map service implementing the OGC WMS specification. It was implemented as an API extension of SICAD Spatial Desktop and was implemented by the company CCGIS.

SICAD/SD-IMS is still in use but since the company merger of SICAD Geomatics (Munich) and AED Graphics (Bonn) initiated by Leica Geosystems in 2002 development has been discontinued.

Technically SICAD/SD-IMS has always been a rather pragamtic but extremely useful hack but is outdated nowadays. Still, up until today there is not one Wep Map Service available that can be configured and managed as easily and there probably never will be.
