Service Oriented Architecture is the foundation of distributed spatial computing. Mapbender binds services and functionality to generate new content that can be used to learn, process and disseminate spatial information. The orchestration of services still has to be done by humans as automation is far from being able to understand the semantics of the content of the technically already highly standardized services.
