More suggestions for a Mapbender logo after we failed again miserably with our latest versions. Following up on Uli's suggestion to try out something more abstract Christoph came up with first a small letter "m" and a capital letter "B" as in "mapBender" (hehehe). After showing him a few version he made me break the letters into regular circles. The one at the bottom fills the empty white box and has more agreeable colors. I am pretty good in Inkscape by now (still no designer unfortunately, so don't blam me if it looks rugged, its all Inkscape's fault then).
The Original Logo
The original Mapbender Logo as created by Arnulf is still available on this server. But people have objected to using it up front because of fear that some gigantic entertainment industry feels it is worth crushing us with lawyers for creating something that resembles Futurama's Bender. Who in fact is what we refer to.

- two guys in a rowing boat
- look at the Mapbender logo with the red and blue p and b
- these could be a blue and a red guy sitting in a row boat (seen from above, wearing white hats)
- they have paddles in their hands (vertical lines of p and b)
- the black letters represent the boat
- symbolizes collaboration
- a 3D logo could be made, where the boat is on a water body of a map
- by paddling, the map could be bent a little (like tiny waves)
