terrestris is founding member of the Geo-Consortium and provides services for spatial software. Special focus lies on:

Additionally terrestris' co-founder Till Adams is project admin of the Free Software projects AVeiN! and AMeiN!.
terrestris, Hinrich Paulsen & Till Adams GbR is a spin-off company of the Research Group for Geomorphology and Environmental Research of Prof. Dikau which is located at the Geographical Institute at the University of Bonn.
The company foundation was aided by the Ministry for Education, Science and Research of NRW within the programme for setting up business for graduates (PFAU).
terrestris' field of work includes the equipment and support of web-based Geographical Information Systems which depends on Free Software as well as equipment and support for SMS-based information systems and soil erosion modelling. The combination of these different sectors offers interesting applications for early warning, catastrophe precautions and environmental management.

Die Firmengründung wurde unterstützt durch das Ministerium für Erziehung, Wissenschaft und Forschung von NRW im Rahmen des Programms zur finanziellen Absicherung von Unternehmensgründern aus Hochschulen des Landes Nordrhein-Westfalen (PFAU).
Die Arbeitsfelder von terrestris beinhalten die Ausstattung und Unterstützung von Geographischen Informationssystemen auf der Basis von Freier Software sowie die Ausstattung und Unterstützung von SMS-basierten Informationssystemen und Bodenerosionsmodellierungen. Die Kombination dieser verschiedenen Bereiche bietet interessante Applikationen für Frühwarnsysteme, Katastrophenvorsorge und Umweltmanagement.
