Talk:Wikimaps is the dicussion page for an architecture implementing maps (spatial data management and access) using Free Software and Free Spatial Data for the purposes of Wikimedia projects.

The Wikipedia encyclopedia projects currently still only show static map images and lack any spatial referencing or search functionality. The same applies to Wikinews, Wikibooks, etc. A Wikimaps architecture should therfore be most inclusive - probably one of the reasons why development is very slow.
